The Ride Drive Premier Gold Advanced Driving Adventure is an all–inclusive top–class package that mixes high performance car road driving, a dynamic car control programme at a private facility, a skid pan course and two nights at a top–quality hotel.

This can only be described as an almost shameful display of car ownership indulgence and is the flagship of the Ride Drive range of advanced driver training services. Anyone who partcipates in the Premier Gold Advanced Driving Adventure is assured of an experience that will invoke excitement and specialist driving skills to last for many years.

Your Arrival At The Hotel

On the evening of your arrival you will find we have provided very well for you. There will be a complimentary bottle of wine for your evening’s enjoyment and a fabulous three–course dinner. You choose your meal from a range of mouth–watering dishes, again provided as all part of the Ride Drive Premier Gold Advanced Driving Adventure.

After your meal you will be joined at the hotel bar by your personal Ride Drive advanced driving specialist who will make a visit to ensure that all is to your satisfaction and to discuss with you the content of the two–day driving programme to follow.

Day One – A System of Car Control

On the following morning you begin your day with a hearty breakfast, after which you will be met by your personal advanced driving specialist, who will be ready to accompany you to your car for the forthcoming activities of the day.

After a short briefing you set off to begin a road driving experience that will provide for you a whole range of effective skills that are to help you always get the very best from your road driving activities.

You will become aware of an advance driving system that will facilitate unobtrusive progress over a wide and varied selection of different road types that have been picked out to provide you with a miriad of development opportunities.

The Dynamic Car Control Session At the pre–arranged time, you will arrive at the gates of one of our approved sites to complete the off–road car control routines. In this controlled and traffic–free environment, and for up to two–hours, you will receive specialist coaching to develop your car handling skills. The topics covered may be that of effective management of traction and power, car stability and balance, countering understeer, oversteer, and learning of collision avoidance methods. Other areas covered may be effective use of Tip–Tronic gearboxes, automatic transmission (where fitted) and driving the car with all electronic aid switched off. The objective here is for you to realise the performance potential of both yourself and your car, and to discover how inappropriate driver responses will produce an adverse effect on car control. Back on The Road Having discovered the darker aspects of your car, and sharpened your vehicle handling skills, you leave the airfield to apply your experience driving on the road.
			Please note, this driving programme does not involve a track day, participation in a motorsport event, time trial, speed driving activity or any form of competitive driving. Off road manoeuvring and car control sessions are completed at risk assessed venues that are closed to the general public, so as to remove the activities from the unpredictibility of a public road environment. Standard road speeds will not be exceeded.

There are a great number of exciting and picturesque roads in Great Britain and over the two–day programme you will be guided over some of the best examples.

This is where you begin to enjoy the new found responsiveness your car seems to provide. Each route will have been hand–picked to illustrate the various points, and for you to practice the many new skills that will become yours to own.

As you become more at ease with a whole new system of driving a car you begin develop the sense that you are now working with the car, in that you are becoming part of it, gaining the required response almost by thinking it along the road.

Lunch comes in the from a visit to a village inn where you pause a little to reflect on a day already half done, adrenaline still flowing and keeping your mind expectantly active whilst anticipating what the afternoon may bring. Again you strike out over the often picturesque yet challenging route, with engine note rising and falling as you play your part in conducting the orchestra of cylinder, spark and gear.

As the afternoon draws to a close you return to the hotel. Tired from the excitement and applied concentration of the day you bid goodbye to your travelling companion⁄mentor before again sampling the culinary delights provided by the dinner menu. Perhaps a nightcap may be in order before retiring early for the night.

Day Two – The Pace Becomes More Progressive

Next morning, already aroused by the thoughts of what the day may bring, you again enjoy a hearty breakfast before you are joined by your personal advanced driving specialist. Soon you are heading toward the hotel gate and the Queen’s highway beyond.

The pace is now more brisk as you again conduct that orchestra playing beneath the bonnet. Picking up from where you had left the music on the afternoon before, everything is more in tune. Bend after bend, through dale and over hill, and the car responds happily to your every whim as though anticipating your next command.

The Skid Pan Driving Session

At about the half–way stage, you arrive at the second off–road driving activity, this time at the skid car centre. During this hour–long period, and using a supplied vehicle, you develop an in–depth level of understanding for the four causes of skidding.

Completing the driving routines you gain knowledge of how to avoid a skid and how you can control a car effectively on a low–grip surface. Driving by fingertips you practically hear the car speak to you as you apply steering, brakes and power so gently to achieve the desired response.

This is driving on a knife–edge, and although in this environment the consequences of a mistake are harmless, it is where you need to make your mistakes. The exercises certainly do bring home the perils of such circumstances occurring for real and on a live public road.

A light lunch is again taken at the appropriate time and place along the route, and its then off for the afternoon and the closing stages of the programme. By now you will be at one with the car, as it has almost become an extension of your own body. You find you can make swift progress, but in a smooth and flowing manner, with each application of brake and power, and change of gear, happening seamlessly.

Overtakes on the lesser skilled are completed quickly, cleanly and positively, and with the full confidence that you have everything accounted for, as well as being under control.

A Whole New Relationship With a Car

Now the car is talking to you fluently, passing to you information about how it feels, what it wants, and how it wishes to perform. We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again, this is driver and machine working together in complete harmony, and the beginning of a whole new and exciting relationship to have with a car.

To get into that groove is a very special and wondrous place to be. When you drive a car in this way, and to this level, you will have it in the palm of your hand. That is to say you will have the advanced skill and ability to get exactly the level of performance response you want from it.

The Full–Day On–Road Advanced Driving and Car Control Experience is an option that is recognised for the purpose of completing a driver risk assessment for the Ride Drive⁄Adrian Flux special discount car insurance scheme. No tonly that, but as a Premir Gold customer, the risk assessment is provided free as part of the programme content.

As a consequence of the special relationship established between Ride Drive and Adrian Flux Insurance Services, Ride Drive customers can use their newly acquired skills to secure discount car insurance by as much as 20%, (excluding Insurance Premium Tax).
